Burrard Arts Foundation works to eliminate barriers in the experience of art for both artist & audience. BAF operates at a variety of scales in Vancouver, from onsite residency programs for emerging artists to offsite projects like Shepard Fairey’s iconic 30-storey mural.
When BAF approached us for a website redesign, we wanted their site to reflect the foundation’s commitment to equitable access. We created a system to catalogue years of exhibits with a playful, exploratory interface that adapts to a variety of viewing contexts. We designed the BAF site to feel as engaging and informative as an exhibit, integrating clear information hierarchies while keeping the focus on the art. The result is a site that feels like an interactive gallery, enabling visitors to curate their own experience.
